Hemorrhoid Information

Hemorrhoids are swollen and inflamed veins in or around the anus and rectum. There are two kinds of hemorrhoids: internal ones, which occur in the lower rectum, and external hemorrhoids, which develop under the skin around the anus. These may bleed, itch, and feel outright painful. Internal hemorrhoids are typically painless, even when they produce bleeding but not the external one.
